2OR Australia Oriental Radio aims to provide a platform between Australia and China to promote the friendly exchange in areas including economics, trade, culture, arts, politics, foreign affairs, and education. It promotes the relationship development in all areas between Australia and China. 2OR serves as a bridge for communities as a multimedia provider, broadcasting the latest news and sparing no effort in providing high quality programs that are interesting and enjoyable to Chinese listeners. 2OR broadcasts fine Chinese culture and has since become a friend dear to Chinese listeners’ hearts.
2OR is the first and only 24-hour professional Mandarin radio station in Australia. 2OR is highly regarded in the Australian mainstream society, and has received significant attention from the Australian and Chinese Governments. Dignitaries including the Prime Minister of Australia, The Hon. Julia Gillard, and the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Sydney, his Excellency Consul General Duan Jielong, have paid visits to 2OR.
In 2009, 2OR won the most prestigious Global Chinese Broadcasting Award – the “Special Rocket Award”, which was awarded by the State Administration of Radio Film and Television of China (SARFT), nominated by judges from all around the world.
About Master Jun Hong Lu
Master Jun Hong Lu is a well-known leader in the Chinese community in Sydney, Australia. Master Lu is the President of the Australian Chinese Buddhist Research Centre, the President of community groups in the Australian Chinese communities, as well as the Vice President of the Australia Chinese People China Peaceful Reunification Association (CCPPA). For the past 20 years, he has been the President of Chinese radio stations, and is highly respected by Chinese listeners.
Master Lu cofounded the global Chinese broadcasting China Network Television (CNTV). He has had a long-term collaborative relationship with ABC Radio, Xinhua News, China Radio International, and China National Radio. Master Lu also served as the Director for China Network Television (CNTV) for major events including “100th Anniversary of Movies”, “Our Chinese Heart”, and “Variety Show”, etc.
British Community Honours Award
On 1st October 2012, Master Lu was honoured with the “British Community Honours Award” at the House of Lords, United Kingdom in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the world. This award was presented by members of the British Royal Family.
